Care Home Support

The decision to move into a care home can be very challenging mentally and physically for both the individual and their family.

Often there are feelings around loss of independence, loss of a family home and guilt, especially if the individual does not want to move despite best intentions.

We have realised that for many, exercise is a conduit for emotional as well as physical support. Your Health with Igor provides health & wellbeing support to individuals new to care homes or those who have struggled to settle in to their new environments. This is done through activity, exercise and movement whilst advising and guiding how to navigate the complexities of living in a care home and developing relationships with the staff that care for them and the residents that live alongside them. Whilst we appreciate everyone’s experience is unique, we have gathered lots of real-life examples of how individuals have settled into initially challenging environments and began to thrive in them.

I didn’t know what to expect as my husband was not interested in performing exercise sessions. However, I can see that spending time with Igor every day has increased his general mood, energy and it makes my visits to see him so much more pleasant.

Wife of Care Home Resident
Igor calls himself a Health & Wellbeing Consultant, but I think he should refer to himself as a Professional Grandson. My parents enjoy doing gentle exercise and value the experiences Igor shares. He explains what’s going on in the care home and this helps ease my parents.
